Arte in Metro

A METROPOLITAN MUSEUM

A museum without walls

Between the stations and the metro depot, a new museum of contemporary art takes shape, spanning the various languages of contemporary art, while decorated trains take it throughout the city.

Art in Metro: the museum for everyone.

Works

Each work of the MUM and Subbrixia tells a vision of contemporaneity. Discover the complete list of artistic interventions that have transformed the metro depot, its trains, and its stations into a widespread art museum.

An artistic journey yet to be discovered, an art gallery in motion, to make the interaction between work and viewer a daily experience.

Sustainability: a look to the future

Urban art engages with the metro, one of the most sustainable means of transportation, transforming every daily ride into a union of beauty and environmental responsibility. Taking the subway thus becomes a culturally and ecologically aware act.

Dynamics: always in transformation, always in motion

Art in Metro is a project in constant evolution. Every new artistic intervention redefines the museum, every decorated train takes it beyond its physical boundaries.

Art is encountered by walking in the warehouse, crossing the stations, waiting on the platform, traveling home. It is a museum that breathes with the rhythm of the city.

Technology: the language of contemporaneity

Arcade video games, geometric minimalism, digital visions, erasures, color becoming physical space, geometries that challenge perception: the artists of Arte in Metro translate the language of contemporary technology according to their own perception…

And the meter itself becomes the interface that connects art and those who experience the city every day.

MISSION AND VISION

Contemporary art through the city

A moving train is the perfect metaphor for Arte in Metro: always moving throughout the city with its carriages that are both canvas and messenger.

The stations become custodians of contemporary jewelry, the depot on Via Magnolini is the heart where murals are born, and on the platforms, artists transport mobile works of art that bring street art everywhere, from the suburbs to the center.

Arte in Metro has no end point, but it will continue to evolve with new artists coming aboard this project leaving their message.

Admission is free, subject to reservation.

Visits by reservation for groups of 15 to 50 people.
