Patrick TuttofuocoGothic Minerva
DESCRIPTION OF ARTWORK
Three-level intermittent neon
The work – born from Tuttofuoco’s considerations regarding the process of both historical and material stratification of the construction phase of the meter – is made up of a play of neon and light representing a female face, the head of Minerva, and a male face, Claudius II called the Gothic, on which a layer with an abstract element is superimposed.
The intervention has a “bright” character in order to dialogue with the underground condition and is made with hand-blown neon tubes that reproduce on three different levels the elements chosen by the artist: Minerva, Claudius II known as the Gothic and the magnificent Corinthian capital that was the basis for the discovery of the sacred area from the Roman era, today the centre of Brixia – Archaeological Park of Roman Brescia.

Thanks to the switching on of the fade-in and fade-out lenses, the work produces a dynamic luminous effect that gradually changes the chromatic dominant of the environment: the lights produce effects of different evanescence, generating a changing luminous form that at times seems like myth/woman, portrait/man, figuration/abstraction.
When all the neon lights are turned on at the same time, the connection between these elements and their mutual dependence is visible and the idea of accumulation and stratification emerges forcefully.

Patrick Tuttofuoco
It transforms space into a luminous and shared experience, celebrating the city as a living organism through sculptures of light that blend architecture, technology, and collective energy.
