DESCRIPTION OF ARTWORK
Graffiti in contemporary public art
Unmistakable geometries and three-dimensional lettering blend with green-toned architecture. A symbolic environment where the culture of graffiti meets contemporary public art, creating a spontaneous dialogue with space, community, and territory.
With the “YARDA” project, Joys is giving Brescia a work that unfolds on two tracks: an art train that becomes a real moving canvas and a mural on one of the main buildings of the depot at Via Magnolini 3.

Characterized by its unmistakable geometries, “YARDA” takes shape both on the metro train, decorated externally to bring art into movement through the city, and on the facade of the depot, enriched by shades of green that blend with the surrounding architecture.
Yard, in writer’s jargon, represents a place of meeting and artistic creation, but it is also a symbolic environment that expresses the challenge of “marking the territory” and leaving a visible mark in very busy urban places.
In YARDA, the ending “A” gives the term the meaning of the Italian slang that naturalizes the English term. With this term, the Artist wants to create a bridge with the historical culture of graffiti in its most authentic sense, connecting it to the most contemporary developments and evolutions.
