From Writing to Urban Minimalism

Luca Font was born in Bergamo in 1977, lives between Milan and New York, and is a pioneer of the minimal visual style, characterized by bright colors and visual impact. He is considered one of the leading exponents of the graffiti and street art scene in Italy and around the world.

Working between his studio in Milan and the rest of the world, he has gained widespread popularity for his ability to create visually striking works of art with a strong cultural message that capture the essence of the region that hosts them. For this reason, he is often involved in urban redevelopment projects involving associations or schools that work alongside the artist.

Luca Font is a visual artist in that he deals with everything that is visual art, regardless of the surfaces covered (from walls to sheets to skin for tattoos), whether physical or digital illustrations.

It has its roots in the aesthetics of great masters such as Depero. He is considered one of the leading exponents of the graffiti and street art scene in Italy and around the world, thanks to his ability to create works of art that combine the visual language of contemporary art with the energy of urban culture.

In his graphics he works on visual synthesis: it is never realistic or descriptive but rather synthetic and symbolic, and this approach has also been refined thanks to his work as a tattoo artist.

From tattoos in particular he inherited the removal of details and simplification, since, for the spellings on skin to remain legible, they cannot be too detailed or nuanced. So he learned to act by subtraction and combined the volumes of architecture and the colors of Futurism and Brutalism with this setting.
